INTENTIONAL MOTHERHOOD

I’m Lillie Duncan, mother, writer, photographer & soul advocate.

A mother, writer, photographer, and soul advocate are the best ways to simplify the passions and work I do in this world. And yet, aren’t we all so much more than titles and labels. I am brutally soft. I have the gift of empathy. I was born a beauty seeker, and with that comes a deep sense of injustice wherever beauty and shalom are marred. That is my soul advocacy. During my time training and learning under Dr. Dan Allender, it became clear that I was to combine all these areas of life that seemingly felt opposing or different and connect them to share truth.

There is a truth we all need to hear, a truth that pushes back the darkness. A truth rooted in love and needed at the core of our humanity. A truth that asks us to take up space, be heard, take claim of our story, break chains, and redeem what is rightfully ours by remembering who we are.

When we deny our stories, they define us.
When we own our stories, we get to write a brave new ending.

THE REDEMPTIVE GIFT OF INTENTIONAL MOTHERHOOD

THE ART WITHIN

I am a believer, wife, mother, poet, writer, photographer, and student of this life. I use my gifts, words, and photography to illuminate the light of connection, attachment, and love within the motherhood journey. I have been a professional photographer for 11 years, and of all the beauty I have captured, motherhood resonates the deepest. The motherhood journey is symbolic of the birth and evolution we go through during each stage of life. Motherhood is not just consistent joy; it is also full of grief and hardship that naturally comes with the calling. I seek to see and capture the beauty in it all.My own motherhood journey has grown me and softened me in all the ways I needed. This journey is the greatest calling I will ever have on my life. Every day I feel the overwhelming gratitude for being able to love and raise my children. Rosalie is 8, Elias is 6, and Sylvie is 1. My husband, Jake, and I spend part of our time in Texas and part of our time in Arizona and then travel when it is too hot in both places. We have been homeschooling for two years now and I hope to continue through out the years. We have a conversion camper van that we love to travel in across the U.S.

When I am not mothering, I am writing, reading, and currently in graduate school to be a therapist. I use this online space to speak into what it looks like to use the beauty and brokenness of your story as a way to redeem generational lines and cultivate an intentional motherhood. I am thankful you are here. Please reach out if you ever want to talk about motherhood , story work, or photography.

Warmly,
Lillie
